Why do I have to install it to use amazon app

WON'T BUY IT WHEN I HAVE AMAZON PRIME

The old amazon drive was terrible

And it just spins and uses cpu cycles

I dislike Amazon photos

However serious flaw in its caching

Cannot select folders

After tapping sign in button all I see is a blank white screen
